Toti Cadavid is a seasoned branding, communications, and leadership development strategist with significant expertise in the personal development field. She is the CEO of Essencialize LLC, a transformational branding and leadership development company. Essencialize focuses on helping high achievers boost their executive presence, impact, and influence without compromising who they are, so they become ready to take their career and company to higher levels of success. Toti is totally devoted to this type of work because after a second near-death experience, she went through her own transformational journey to find a purpose and inner alignment in her life and career. Toti then became a bestselling author, speaker, trainer, certified coach, and got on a mission to help 10,000 individuals create meaningful and purposeful life and careers that matter and make a positive difference in the world. She believes that when people align their careers with their inner calling, they operate at a much higher level and their possibilities for success are limitless. Toti is an Adjunct Faculty & Executive Coach at the Center for Creative Leadership, an Adjunct Professor of Branding and Sales at CU-Denver, and a co-author of the book Pebbles in the Pond: Wave Four which reached bestseller status in nine countries.
Prior to Essencialize, Toti spent the first 10 years of her career in the corporate sector, designing and implementing fully integrated local and global marketing, branding, and communications efforts for companies such as AT&T and The Hallmark Channel. During the second decade of her career, Toti was president and CEO of Xcelente, a cross-cultural marketing and communications agency which under her leadership helped over 252 clients launch or re-build their brands in the Hispanic marketplace. Xcelente also provided its clients with multicultural communication solutions that incorporated social, ethnic, and cultural nuances into all marketing, branding, public relations, community outreach, public information, and advertising initiatives. Toti launched Essencialize in 2014.
Toti has been deeply committed to giving back to the community, and thus has held board leadership positions in a number of local and national business and civic organizations including the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Health Foundation, Denver International Airport’s Management Advisory Council, CO Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, National Society of Hispanic MBAs, Community College of Denver Foundation, Hispanics in Technology &Telecommunications Association, Mi Casa Resource Center, Denver Better Business Bureau, Minority Advisory Council of the CO Commission on Higher Education, Leadership Council of Escuela de Guadalupe, Denver Mayor’s Latino Commission and Early Childhood Council, the Colorado Forum, and the Women’s Forum of Colorado.
Toti currently sits on the boards of Junior Achievement, El Pomar Foundation’s Denver Council, the Small Business Development Council, and the University of CO’s Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship. Toti was recognized in 2005 as one of the nation’s Top Latina Business Entrepreneurs by Hispanic Magazine, as a finalist by the Colorado Rockies for the Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award, and by The Denver Business Journal as one of the “Top Forty Under 40” business leaders in Colorado. In 2006, Toti received the Businesswoman of the Year award by the Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the SBA’s Minority Small Business Champion Award, and in 2007 was named a “Woman of Distinction” by the Girl Scouts of CO. Toti was recognized in 2016 with the HIP-Giver award by the national Hispanics in Philanthropy Foundation, and in 2019 with the Leadership Award by the Hispanic Chamber of Metro Denver.
Toti holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business, a masters’ degree in Marketing, another master’s degree in Management & Organizational Development, and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship, all from the University of Colorado. Toti is also a graduate of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government Executive Management Program, the 2004 Leadership Program of the Rockies, the 2005 Leadership Denver program, the 2005 National Hispana Leadership Institute, and the 2005 Dartmouth University Tuck Minority Business Executive Program. Toti holds coaching certifications from the Center for Creative Leadership and from QSCA and is a licensed master-level graduate of the Avatar Self-Empowerment Training Program.
Toti, a native of Colombia, lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband Luis Colón and their children.
